Cameroonians, Cameroonians! Dear Camturk members,
On December 12, 2017, after a long formalization process, the Association of Cameroonian Students in Turkey (CAMTURK), is now legal. This administrative recognition by the competent Turkish authorities gives CAMTURK a legal status. From now on, we can exercise legally according to the statutory provisions "revisited" and the regulations in force.
This formalization is the starting point for a particular CAMTURK model, a new format with the "steering committee", the "General Secretariat", and the "General Treasury". Obviously, anyone with pupil or student status in Turkey is in essence a member of the said association. Which, members, will have to pool their energies in order to be able to give vigor to CAMTURK's activities.
As far as activities are concerned, from February 2 to 5, 2018, CAMTURK had organized its third annual congress in Trabzon. During these meetings, where it was a question of presenting students with the new version of our Association, the central theme was "Patriotism and civic commitments". Several activities had furnished the course of this event. These are Panels and conferences, Learned reflections, dances, unbeatable games, entertainment and humor, presentation of CAMTURK texts, Elections for the General Secretariat and the general treasury, excursions ... At the end of this General Assembly, Ali Issa Oumar becomes the new SG of CAMTURK, Magne Michele Elodie, will assume the functions of treasurer.
In Trabzon, the steering committee, signatory to the official CAMTURK birth certificate, had made the commitment to tour each city in Turkey where there are at least 5 Cameroonian students. The objective of this descent operation on the ground is twofold. Not only, it is for information, it also and above all aims to go to Cameroonians in order to inquire about the situation of all and to collect at the same time the recommendations and proposals for a CAMTURK strong and unified.
This operation, carried out under the slogan of "mission to restore the climate of trust", was carried out in the Istanbul region from March 29 to April 2, 2018. A CAMTURK team met with Cameroonian students from Istanbul, those from Kocaeli and than those of Sakarya. CAMTURK is delighted with the welcome it has received in these different cities. Overall, the objective has been largely achieved. This mission was a moment of work, exchange, conviviality, reunion and communion. There are many signs of satisfaction. Around a lunch in Istanbul, a “Cameroonian local ero” dish in Kocaeli, a watered dinner in Sakarya, the CAMTURK caravan had a great time working in a spirit of solidarity and brotherhood. To all Cameroonian students from these different cities, CAMTURK sends them individual sincere thanks and gratitude. Another caravan is planned shortly.
In Istanbul, CAMTURK met a number of associations in the framework of a partnership. In this sense, there was a meeting with the officials of the CCT (Community of Cameroonians in Turkey) and the director of TUMED (Türkiye Uluslararası Mezunlar Derneği). With them, a partnership project is being developed.
